The Duty of Prayer
The hard truth is that most Christians do not pray very much. We pray at meals unless we are stuck in the adolescent stage of calling that legalism. Prayer is a duty the way it is a duty of a scuba diver to put on his air tank before going under water. It is the way the soldiers in combat clean their rifles and load their guns. It is duty the way thirsty people drink water. It is duty the way Pooh bear looks for honey. I hate the devil, and the way he is killing some of you by persuading ...
Whatever you ask…
John 14:13–14: “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” John 15:7–8, 16: “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples . . . . You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your ...

Read and listen to the lyrics of this song. I believe it challenges the church to a higher level. Two parts of the song stood out to me. Many Canadian Christians in the church today wonder what they can do to take the Gospel to all of Canada. Many feel caught in a terrible obligation rather than an awesome opportunity to see God Glorified and people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But...
