What is Momentum?
Momentum is gathering for youth aged 17 to 30 years (17-30 years is the target group, but you are welcome whatever your age - at your own risk …), students or not, speaking of preferences (all language groups are invited, but the event is in French only). It is a regional effort, inter-church, a sort of mini-conference evening.
- The goal is to create a framework to encourage and equip young Christians in the Outaouais region (and beyond) in their Christian walk. Life offers many challenges and live their faith, whether at school, on the labor market, or among friends, is far from clear. Would you like a little encouragement?
- It is also a platform to allow exchange with other Christians, share ideas, challenges and issues, through existing relationships, or those who create through these meetings.
- It is also an ideal context to invite friends who are not Christians, and bring a first meeting in a church that specifically targets the generation of students.
What should I expect?
During the evening we will have a time of praise, which reflects the target group (17-30 years), a message of the Bible by Norman Joseph, a discussion time where everyone has a say and a coffee-dessert.
Another thing: bring your cell, just say you might need it.
And medium term?
The first edition of Momentum will be held December 12 at the Evangelical Baptist Church of Gatineau (more details in the Info section), and we hope to repeat the experiment several times a year in the future.
PRAYER REQUESTS from Quebec City regarding Gospel distribution

God used the recent outreach in Quebec to stir-up the hearts of the people in Quebec City. The following is a list of prayer request received by the prayer lines.
Please prayer for these people. Although you may not know them, they have reached out to the Church of Jesus Christ to make their requests known unto God. Pray for them as requested, but please also pray that they would come to know the Christ who by his death bought for them the mercy that sustains their lives and the way the father.
Pray also for many others who received bibles. Declare that God’s word never returns empty, that these bibles WILL bring people to Christ.
Below are the detailed request from a small percentage of respondents;
Aline from Beloeil, is asking for our prayers. Robert, her 44 year old son is depressed and doesn¹t enjoy life anymore.
Carole, also from Beloeil, is a Christian, but she has a problem with alcohol. She says she keeps falling in this old sin, these days. She is very sad. Part of her problem resides in the fact that her husband drinks too. She would like the Lord to help her stop drinking. May He give her strength.
Gilles from Longueuil, a Christian, stays with an unsaved woman. His pastor knows about this situation. Please pray that the Lord gives him courage and wisdom in this situation, as he seems to be torn apart between his pastor and that woman.
Mrs Therrien from Terrebonne, wants us to pray for her health. She is suffering from arthritis. The pain is very severe from her lower back, down to her feet.
Pierre from Chicoutimi asks for our prayers. He would like the social worker to find him another place to stay, as his actual landlord acts violently towards him. He would like to move out.
Richard G. from Montreal. Please pray that the Lord delivers him from the covetousness of his eyes. He wants to remain faithful to Him and constantly asks forgiveness. He wants to grow in His grace and be filled with His Holy Spirit.
Mr. Geoffrion, a Christian, would like us to pray for his daughter Judie. She is a Christian, but she now has a boy in her life. She is slowly drifting apart from her assembly and from her Bible reading. She has even gone away to stay with her unsaved friend. May the Lord protect and keep her, give her wisdom, and finally bring her back to Him.
Sophie from Iberville, is a Christian and an epileptic. She is very discouraged. She would like to start reading the Bible again, be more concentrated when she reads, be positive, and also get outside the house to make some friends. Let us pray for Sophie.
Therese from St-Jerome, is a Christian. But before her conversion, she was involved with occultism, and was in contact with Œshamans¹. Today, she is suffering form acute pain in her side. She thinks it is a punishment from God. She asks for our prayers, so she may be relieved of this pain.
Yannick, a lady from Longueuil, is asking for our prayers so her fellowship with God may be restored. She feels very far from him, but she does not know why.

Watch the video, and email me anything that the Lord reveals to you, that it may encourage and build-up the body of Christ.

Québec Update from www.24-7prayer.ca

I’m extremely excited about how the church is being moved to pray in Québec. Just in the past couple weeks I’ve heard some really encouraging stories. The Open Door in Pierrefonds has been praying for a weekend a month for about 6 months now and they always have the prayer room set up and open. A friend of mine plans to start the first prayer week in her church at the beginning of November. My pastor just started a 4 week series on prayer which will be ending with our first ever prayer room. And last but not least, I recently had the opportunity to meet Brian again from Greenfield Park Baptist Church and God is doing some amazing stuff in his community through prayer.
This is part of the email he wrote during their week of prayer,
We are currently involved in a 24-7…Sun Sept 14-21. We started with an all church Concert of Prayer for our regular 11 o’clock service. It was very well received. This is our 3rd Concert of Prayer. On Sunday afternoon, all of the evening prayer times were filled for the entire week…wow!!! People have been eager to sign up. Three important things are happening this time during 24-7.First, many people are saying that one hour of prayer is just not enough, they are insisting on at least 2 hours of prayer…how awesome is that?! Second, one of our leaders who was greatly impacted by our 24-7 in January, has organized a one hour evening group prayer as part of 24-7 (each evening during the week of 24-7) which we are calling Fresh Encounters. It is lead by a different church leader each evening which signals to the church the importance of prayer at a leadership level. This man had a vision during the January 24-7 of the prayer room filling up to overflowing and then the sanctuary filling up as well with people praying. So far, only small groups are coming out, but we will see what God will do!!!The third thing is this: another man has a vision to see people coming out to a group prayer time each week. He has signed up for the prayer room on Wed 7am-9am. He will continue this after 24-7 is completed and is inviting others to join him each week.
The most exciting thing is that 24-7 now seems to be a part of who we are, a part of the growing, changing, fabric of this church. By God’s grace, we will make this a regular part of what we do as a church.I hope and pray that God will continue to move his people to pray for Québec and in Québec.
