This video was emailed to me by someone. It really captures the heart of the Minsitry.

Watch the video, and email me anything that the Lord reveals to you, that it may encourage and build-up the body of Christ.

Quebec Election - December 8th, 2008

leg.jpgIt is just over a week into the Quebec election campaign and the three party leaders have seen their campaigns marred by name-calling and squabbling, which has only added to voters’ cynicism about an election that many believe is unnecessary. Liberal Leader Jean Charest was called a liar by Parti Québécois Leader Pauline Marois. Not to be outdone, Finance Minister Monique Jérôme-Forget described her Action Démocratique du Québec critic Gilles Taillon a “jerk” during a television encounter. So far it has been a messy campaign, and no leader has been able to make a mark. It is getting mesy and we need to pray.

  • Pray that voters would not be turned off by these squabbles, but would see through them and still vote on the issues.
  • Pray for a strong voter turnout
  • Pray that the leaders will lay aside their clashes in personality, and focus the election on the issues.
  • Pray for the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, Jean Charest and the leader of the Parti Québécois, Pauline Marois. Please pray firstly for their salvation
  • Pray that Quebec will be a provence that honours and serves God
    • Pray that Quebec will be a place which demonstrates righteousness, justice, compassion and generosity
    • Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring a spirit of repentance across our land
    • Pray that individuals and leaders will seek and demonstrate forgiveness
    • Pray that Christians would have both grace and the courage to be bold
    • Pray for the Spiritual Strength of Quebec

Please hide this scripture in your heart and keep Québec’s leaders in Prayer.

Pray for All People

1First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2(A) for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and(B) dignified in every way. 3This is good, and(C) it is pleasing in the sight of(D) God our Savior, 4who desires(E) all people to be saved and(F) to come to(G) the knowledge of the truth.

I’m extremely excited about how the church is being moved to pray in Québec. Just in the past couple weeks I’ve heard some really encouraging stories. The Open Door in Pierrefonds has been praying for a weekend a month for about 6 months now and they always have the prayer room set up and open. A friend of mine plans to start the first prayer week in her church at the beginning of November. My pastor just started a 4 week series on prayer which will be ending with our first ever prayer room. And last but not least, I recently had the opportunity to meet Brian again from Greenfield Park Baptist Church and God is doing some amazing stuff in his community through prayer.

This is part of the email he wrote during their week of prayer,

We are currently involved in a 24-7…Sun Sept 14-21. We started with an all church Concert of Prayer for our regular 11 o’clock service. It was very well received. This is our 3rd Concert of Prayer. On Sunday afternoon, all of the evening prayer times were filled for the entire week…wow!!! People have been eager to sign up. Three important things are happening this time during 24-7.First, many people are saying that one hour of prayer is just not enough, they are insisting on at least 2 hours of prayer…how awesome is that?! Second, one of our leaders who was greatly impacted by our 24-7 in January, has organized a one hour evening group prayer as part of 24-7 (each evening during the week of 24-7) which we are calling Fresh Encounters. It is lead by a different church leader each evening which signals to the church the importance of prayer at a leadership level. This man had a vision during the January 24-7 of the prayer room filling up to overflowing and then the sanctuary filling up as well with people praying. So far, only small groups are coming out, but we will see what God will do!!!The third thing is this: another man has a vision to see people coming out to a group prayer time each week. He has signed up for the prayer room on Wed 7am-9am. He will continue this after 24-7 is completed and is inviting others to join him each week.
The most exciting thing is that 24-7 now seems to be a part of who we are, a part of the growing, changing, fabric of this church. By God’s grace, we will make this a regular part of what we do as a church.
I hope and pray that God will continue to move his people to pray for Québec and in Québec. If you are interested in praying for Québec please sign up for updates, or email me with prayer updates for Québec.daniel@prayforquebec.com

The Power and Priority of Prayer

Many Canadian Christians in the church today wonder what they can do to take the Gospel to all of Canada. Many feel caught in a terrible obligation rather than an awesome opportunity to see God Glorified and people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Thehands.jpg Bible partnered with testimony from around the world shows us that taking on Christ’s challenge to share the Gospel comes with great reward and great joy! The fact that God answers prayer is recognized by the church worldwide. But with this idea so widespread in the church it’s a wonder we don’t spend more energy praying and petitioning to God. I urge you to not see prayer as a ritual, a mere requirement of faith, but an essential tool that God promises to use, to build his kingdom. In other countries around the world Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and other faith are being changed by the Gospel, Why do we act as if it can’t happen here? It can, through prayer…everyone can be transformed by the power of the Gospel. AW Tozer once said, “Anything God has ever done, he can do now. Anything God has done anywhere, God can do here. Anything God has ever done for anyone, God can do for you. We have seen God work in some of the spiritually darkest parts of the world. This should be for us proof that the Evangelization of our Multi-ethnic, multi-faith culture is possible. Canadians are spiritually thirsty and we need to pray that they would be given the living water to quench their thirst so they never thirst again. Please play for our nation. Please share the Gospel with unsaved friends and family. Not for me, not for yourself, but for the Glory of God to praise of his name.

The Ultimate Goal of the Church

Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions
exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions,
because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, ancross-of-quebec.gifd
the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the
throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity.
But worship abides forever.

Worship, therefore, is the fuel and goal of missions. It’s the goal of
missions because in missions we simply aim to bring the nations into
the white-hot enjoyment of God’s glory. The goal of missions is the
gladness of the peoples in the greatness of God. “The LORD reigns, let
the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!” (Ps. 97:1). “Let the peoples praise you,
O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for
joy!” (Ps. 67:3–4).
But worship is also the fuel of missions. Passion for God in worship
precedes the offer of God in preaching. You can’t commend what you
don’t cherish. Missionaries will never call out, “Let the nations be
glad!” who cannot say from the heart, “
I rejoice in the LORD
. . . .
I will
be glad and exult in you,
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High”
(Ps. 104:34; 9:2). Missions begins and ends in worship.

If the pursuit of God’s glory is not ordered above the pursuit of
man’s good in the affections of the heart and the priorities of the
church, man will not be well served, and God will not be duly honored.
